Homecoming not sweet for Henry Clay Football
A dream night to win a football homecoming game for Henry Clay slowly became a nightmare on Friday night against city rival Lafayette. After a scoreless first quarter, Lafayettte snatched a 7-0 lead right before halftime. After the halftime homecoming festivities, the scoring drought continued for the Devils. With just under eight minutes left in regulation, HC were looking at a golden opportunity to level the score. However, on first and goal, the Devils lost possession on fumble. The Generals of Lafayette eventually tacked on another score to take a 14-0 win. The homecoming loss drops the Devils to 1-5. HC travels to Madison Central on Thursday next week, looking to find some more road game magic after beating George Rogers Clark two weeks ago.
